Positive evaluation for the presence of Uruguayan meats in Anuga

The attendance at the Uruguayan Meat Trade Stand in Germany was massive, particularly on the second and third day of the exhibition, in the context of Anuga 2017 Trade Fair, in which INAC participated for the ninth time.

It was highlighted the presence of Chinese buyers, whose number had already increased by 20 percent in the previous edition; but this time with more specialization and interest in business. This market continues with high activity and they show interest in being supplied with Uruguayan meat.

Meat prices in Europe's domestic market have risen, after being low for years. This rise makes imported meat competitive. On the other hand, visitors expressed their concern about the situation of the 481 quota that now has more complexities in operations and logistics.

The Uruguayan booth was visited by other delegations and organizations such as the International Meat Trade Association IMTA - importers and exporters from the United Kingdom, the Meat & Livestock MLA of Australia, the international consultancy on meat GIRA and other Institutes such as IPCVA and QMS. Visitors highlighted other issues such as the EU Mercosur agreement and the Brexit.

The booth, built on two floors with a total area of 600m2, once again stood out for its conceptual proposal. This time, INAC focused its message on the concept of balance for the attributes of the meat product and its production process.

The Slogan used was "Balance: respecting nature's times and processes" and appealed to mobile structures in balance, achieving a visual impact among visitors. On the other hand, emphasis was also placed on the importance of iron in the diet, within the framework of the campaign "The first one thousand days" that the Institute is promoting together with Uruguayan organizations of nutrition and research.

It was offered tasting of meats (loin and rib-eye steak) and national wines, in the restaurant placed at the booth's second floor during the first four days.

On the other hand, the German Chef Johann Laffer - who in Germany is a recognized reference of the local gastronomy - was in charge of the reception for 300 people between clients and press in the Rheinterrasen restaurant, to reinforce the positioning of the Uruguayan meat and also visited the Uruguayan Meats' stand.

INAC's official delegation was integrated by the President Federico Stanham, the delegates of the Board Eduardo Urgal and Guillermo Villa, representatives of the industry and the producers respectively.

19 co-exhibitor companies and 15 other companies of brokers and traders have participated. During the first day, it was present the Uruguayan Ambassador in Germany, Gabriel Eduardo Bellon and the team of the diplomatic corps.
