Restaurant in Portugal.

Date: 07/20/2009

July 18th, on occasion of Uruguay's Constitution Day, the first theme restaurant funded entirely by private investment will be inaugurated in Algarve, with institutional and promotional support by the National Meat Institute.

The Uruguayan Vice-President, Mr. Rodolfo Nin Novoa, INAC's President, Mr. Alfredo Fratti, and the Chairman of the Livestock Committee of the Senate, Mr. Jorge Saravia, will attend the official opening.

Algarve is an exclusive Portuguese seaside resort, which during the summer high season has its population increased to a million of people owing to the inflow of tourists that come from the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Holland, Spain, Germany, and France, among other countries.

This experience in the privileged seaside resort in Portugal is now added to the one of last year at Expo Zaragoza 2008, where 80,000 people tasted Uruguayan beef along three months.

The restaurant shows the key elements that identify it as a member of the Uruguay Natural Club, and is named Gourmet Natural.

The atmosphere is set by works of the Uruguayan artist Carlos González, and its parilla (grill) with fire will be visible for all diners. The four elements of our production system -water, sky, sun, and grass- will accompany the presentation of our country and its dishes.

A space named "Corner of Uruguay" has been especially designed with typical elements of our culture and of our livestock production.
