Fratti at INAC

The recently elected President of the Republic, Mr. José Mujica Cordano asked Mr. Alfredo Fratti, current President of INAC, to continue on office. The first contacts with the appointed Livestock Minister, Mr. Tabaré Aguerre, will take place soon.

Mr. Fratti said to the media that holding office as President of INAC for another administration will be a challenge for him since this is a new government. He also declared that apart from continuing working together with the Ministries of Livestock and Foreign Affairs to improve market access, he will go on with a policy to balance the external markets and the domestic market, so that those with lower income can improve their access to proteins.

He also talked about technological development in the framework of the bet on intelligence that is being done through the Meat Industry Specialization, for which enrollment of the second generation will be called for during 2010.

Fratti said that measures will be taken and research will be done on Environment, Energy, and the Meat Sector during next year, apart from continuing to develop food service projects around the world and in Uruguay.
