Meat Industry Specialization Certificates

High national authorities and authorities of the University of the Republic attended the awarding ceremony for the 39 students who passed the 1st Module of the Meat Industry Specialization.  Said award is worth 15 post-graduate credits, which will be counted for future diplomas and masters.

The ceremony was attended by the elected President of the Republic, Mr. José Mujica Cordano, the President of INAC, Mr. Alfredo Fratti, the Vicepresident of the Institution, Mr. Fernando Pérez Abella, the Rector of the University of the Republic, Mr. Rodrigo Arocena, and the Dean of the School of Agronomy, Mr. Fernando García, among other authorities.

The elected President of the Republic declared that because Uruguay is a small country, it needs to have a degree of differentiation, in this case, it is to be highly qualified. "Prosperity will depend on what we are able to plant in the mind of our children", he said.

The President of INAC, Mr. Alfredo Fratti, thanked the support given by the Schools of Agronomy and Veterinary, which contributed to the development of the Specialization courses given at INAC. He reminded that next year INAC will call for the second generation of university graduates to enter these specialized post graduate courses, which have been Declared of National Interest by the President of the Republic.

Meanwhile, the Rector of the University of the Republic, Mr. Rodrigo Arocena, talked about the commitment of university graduates with society, and about the production of knowledge in the country.
