National pride

About 1,500 meters of grills made with 13 tons of iron and 12,000 kilos of beef earned Uruguay the Guinness World Record for the largest barbecue in the world.

The event, organized on April 13, 2008 by the National Meat Institute INAC, gathered together somo 1,254 grillers and 1,200 organizers and volunteers in the Rural de Prado bullring. About 23,000 Uruguayans and foreigners celebrated the victory that Guinness representative Danny Girton bestowed on our country that same evening.

Fireworks, applause, music and passionate chants reflected the pride and national identity winning the world record made us feel.

The flavor of the prairie.

Just as it pleases your palate, Uruguayan meat is good for your health. Highly nutritious and lean, it contains good fats that lower cholesterol.

Moreover, since it comes from cattle fed exclusively on grass, it contains four times more Omega 3 as well as higher levels of vitamin E, a natural antioxidant that combats aging, than conventional meat.
