The Uruguayan official delegation took part in work meetings in which it helped the Russian authorities in defining the High Quality Beef included in the new system being designed by Russia.
In recent hours meetings between the delegation headed by the Livestock Minister Tabaré Aguerre and the Russian Livestock Minister were held to discuss improvements in conditions of access for Uruguayan products.
The President of INAC Alfredo Fratti said from Moscow that after the meetings the impression left is the confirmation of the good times the commercial and political relationships with the Russian Federation are going through.
From the commercial point of view, as regards High Quality Beef, Uruguay’s opinion on the matter has been important for the Russian authorities, also said the Head of the National Meat Institute.
This moment is important because Russia defines the type of High Quality Beef it will buy. It is expected that a better price will be paid for this product and will not be limited by any tariff rate quota. Negotiations began in August 2012 when Russia took steps to enter the WTO, World Trade Organization.
