Uruguay in Russia

During the first day of Prodexpo Exhibition INAC’s stand was visited by the Minister Tabaré Aguerre, the Ambassador Fernando López Fabregat, the Ambassador of Uruguay in Russia Aníbal Cabral, the Director of Livestock Services Francisco Muzio, authorities of INAVI, INALE, INIA and Uruguay XXI, etc. It was also visited by the Ambassador of Mexico in Russia. 

 

INAC was selected by PRODEXPO’s organization amongst 50 of the 2.500 exhibitors, to receive an award in recognition for its repeated participation in the exhibition.

 

In the meantime, at Ararat Park Hyatt Hotel the Livestock Minister Tabaré Aguerre offered a presentation on Uruguay followed by a dinner in which beef and sheep meat were served together with other Uruguayan products (wines, cheeses and olive oil). Cuts chosen were cube roll and French rack. Dinner was attenden by 150 guests, mainly of Russian origin.

 

This 5-star hotel is exceptionally located: opposite Moscow’s Red Square and the famous BOLSHOI theater. In average, a main course at the restaurant’s hotel ((10th floor) costs about 50 dollars. A festival of Uruguayan beef will be held precisely at this hotel.

 

INAC’s stand is 72 m2 and the delegation of the Institute is made up of its President Alfredo Fratti, Juan García Requena and Gastón Scayola, representatives of farmers and meat packers respectively, the Director of External Markets Silvana Bonsignore, the Head of Project Follow-up Daniel Sparano and Ma. Cecilia Shaw of the Marketing and Promotion area.

 

In 2012 Russia accounted for almost 26 % of the volume of exported meat and approximately for 18 % of the export income measured in dollars.
